Join a fun ride from Sellwood Park to Downtown Milwaukie's waterfront. It's a summertime Bike Bus!

This ride is for kids and families as part of Kidical Mass PDX -- promoting cycling safety and rider/auto visibility, especially for children.

We'll meet at the newly re-opened recreational offering from Sellwood Community House, called "The Shack" in the park near the pool and playground.

We'll then head out on this free, family-friendly, kid-paced bike ride.

The route will take us on the Springwater Trail through Sellwood to the Trolley Trail to head south past Waverley Country Club on a mostly downhill and dedicated pedestrian/bicycle multi-use path.

We'll enjoy free Otter Pops and splash in the Willamette River waterfront at our turn-around spot in Milwaukie Bay Park before returning to Sellwood Park along the same route.

Ride length: 5.4 miles (2.2 each way)

It is a great ride for most young bike riders who can pedal their own bike without training wheels. Bring swimwear, sunscreen and water!

We should be back around 1pm.

We will ride at a slow pace for little pedalers and parents on cargo bikes.

Kids should wear a helmet, be able to balance and pedal in a straight line, start and stop. Cargo bikes, tandems, trailers and tag-a-longs are great for kids who haven’t learned to pedal.

Adult corkers are welcome to join as a traffic safety superheroes.

We’ll ride together as a group, no matter the weather, because kids are traffic too!
